LFCAJ supporting FJMGP for GPF mobilization

FJMGP introducing GPF to LFCAJ
Sept. 28, 2008 , Akabane Hall
Reported by : Precy Akahori

Ms Cecil Iizuka, one of the PROs of Licensed Filipino Caregiver’s Association in Japan attended the GPF Orientation and Partnership Event in Shinjuku Bunka Center last Sept 13, 2008. She got inspired and after the event she reported positively resulting to 2 more PROs of the group attending the GPF follow up meeting held last Sept 21 at YFWP office in Shinjuku. After the follow up meeting, the 2 PROs invited FJMGP to attend their next meeting and introduce GPF to their officers.
So on Sept 21, 2008, the FJMGP VP for Internal Affairs Dra Nora Hasegawa with the secretary Priscila Akahori visited the LFCAJ Meeting at Akabane Hall to give a GPF Orientation to the group.

Present in the meeting are Ms. Penafrancia Oishi- President, Arlene Suzuki- Treasurer, Ms.Cecil Iizuka,Auditor, Ms Jane Tajima, Ms.Sonia Yamashita, - PROs,Drs Nobue Suzuki and Sachi Takahata, their advisers, plus other officers ,staff and members- I did not remember their names. They have a nation wide membership, so some member traveled for hours to attend the meeting. LFCAJ is a registered peace partner of FJMGP.

After all the personal introduction and FJMGP briefing , the GPF Phil 2007 Video was shown. Activities on GPF Japan 2008 followed. Everyone has shown positive response and inquired how to join. We encouraged them to sign first the Partnership Agreement and explained more on the Global Peace Exhibition and 1 Million Family Volunteer. Also invited them to join in the Arakawa Clean Up on Nov 13 with HJN. They are now helping in looking for prospective sponsors and participants in the different GPF activities.

Of course none of these things would have happened without the ever patient follow – ups of our dear Ate Lorie. Despite of her very preggy situation she finds time doing mission; working late at night to cope up with the deadlines and calling people to arrange our meeting.. In deed a great person. We love you Ate Lorie!

At the event, Pres. Obara met Mr. Takatora Kobayashi, a US Ambassador for Peace to Japan based in Mie Prefecture . We had our first contact with him way back in April this year as he is asking for some help in contacting the Philippine Embassy regarding the Filipino Community participation in the GPF Japan. He said that he believed in the potential of the Filipinos and so he recently sought the Filipino Community in Mie Ken and was able to approach some leaders.

Pres. Obara encouraged him to help in promoting GPF to the Filipino Community in the said area since our official GPF resource speaker Mr Koji Matsuda w ill be very busy in the coming weeks and more areas are requesting for speakers. He promised to support us and Pres. Obara designated him as the official FJMGP - GPF resource speaker in Mie, Kagoshima , Hiroshima , Ishikawa, and Kanazawa Prefectures . With another resource speaker added to our manpower, we hope for more mini GPF activities in the said areas.

GPF had recognized FJMGP as one of its many partners in realizing a peaceful family, community, nation, and world. In fact, FJMGP is co-chair in the Executive Committee GPF Japan-International Group. To realize such partnership, FJMGP believes that without co-existence with other active Filipino organizations in Japan, it will not be possible. This is reason why Partnership Event took place where each of the organizations present were asked to sign the Peace Partnership Agreement as part of the programme. Other regions in Japan are encouraged to find Peace Partners of FJMGP in their areas so as to be connected to the GPF-Japan.

Mr. Koji Matsuda, Japan GPF Executive Committee-Director of Event Exhibition was the main speaker and emphasized that Filipinos in Japan can become bridge of peace for a change in the Japanese Culture . He shared the 4 themes of GPF which are FAMILY, SERVICE, COOPERATION, and CO-EXISTENCE. The content of his speech is focused on rebuilding the family and education for young people, spreading the culture of service, strengthening conscience and moral values by interreligious cooperation and realizing the society of multiracial co-existence.

Ms. Mari Nihei , TKO President Ms. Eleanor Fukuda , ODAN-J President gave their congratulatory speech and reflections as representatives from the guests. They expressed their inspiration of what hey have learned form this orientation program and were very enthusiastic in signing up Peace Partner Agreement and committed to engaging their group in helping bring Filipinos to the Nov 15. GPF Japan. At the entertainment part of the program, the TIMD group was there to perform unique martial arts ballet featuring the PEACE form and CREATION form. Also, there was a raffle draw where most of the give aways were sponsored by the AFWP (Arts Festival for World Peace ). Thanks to Masato Obara for arranging the sposorship.

Mini-GPF @ Yamanashi

GPF Mobilization at Yamanashi-Ken
Sept.14,2008

Reported By : Ronnie delos Santos
Best wishes to everyone! In behalf of the Mini GPF- Yamanashi Chapter committee and the FJMGP officers and staffs. I would like to share with you what happened in the last September 14, 2008 Yamanashi Mini- GPF.
Ate Jen Yamaguchi was a sole Filipina FJMGP member in Yamanashi. So in the beginning it seems that it was so difficult for her to conduct mini GPF in her place .But because of her determination and dedication to contribute in the upcoming GPF Japan 2008 , together with a few of her non member friends, they visited every Filipina living in her area to invite them in the coming affair. It was not so easy for them to immediately give their confirmation for so many reasons, like for example they need to ask first permission to their Japanese husbands and some say that they have work even on Sunday.

Anyway, the day of the event had come and to her surprise, the mini auditorium was filled with guests, Filipinos and Japanese as well, at least a hundred in number. Angelita Obara, FJMGP President gave an orientation about the organization and at the same time welcomed the guests. After that we had the Video Presentation taken from the GPF-Philippines 2007 event and all were amazed on the grandeur of the celebration specially upon seeing the different prominent personalities attending the festival.
The Program was full of surprises for we had so many intermission number, like the Aloha Dance Group , the Yamaguchi children who performed piano and flute presentation and of course the sparring partner of the FJMGP which is the Tong-Il MO DO Association whose dedication and performance is always amazing, headed by soon to be Master, Mr. Robert Alcamfor together with him were Mr. Joel Arias, Mr. Isaiah Florentino , Mr. Arnold Heramis and his two wonderful kids and the small but terrible tita Angie Obara demonstrated their skills in Martial Arts.

The 1st speaker was Mr. Koji Matsuda who is the Executive Director of the GPF Exhibition and Secretary General of the YFWP (Youth Federation for World Peace) talked about the past and recent activities of the Service for Peace and the Global Peace Festival in the Philippines and other countries through a PowerPoint presentation by which pave a way for him to invite all the guest to participate at the upcoming November 15 GPF Japan in Tokyo.
The 2nd speaker was Mr. Reuben G. Cruz , President of the Filipino Japanese Blessed Family Association (FJBFA)East Region and adviser to the FJMGP. discussed about the role of the Family in building a world of peace and gave his own personal testimony on how to make the Family a true school of love.

The 3rd speaker came from the audience, He is Mr. Mazaaki Nozawa , an Engineer who gave his reflection and opinion regarding the ideas of the Global Peace Festival. Everyone gave their affirmation to support the Nov15 GPF -Japan event. The program was concluded by a community singing of the GPF theme song and gift giving for children. After the program, everyone were invited to a grand dinner.

Ate JenJen` friends helped her prepare so many Filipino foods. While everyone is enjoying the meal, ate Jen approached every table and gave thanks to all of us. Everybody enjoyed their meal and after some group discussion, all gave their final greetings and went home inspired.

The FJMGP-GPF Yamanashi Chapter wants to give their gratitude to following persons. Thanks for the big support!

A “Kick-Off Banquet for the Global Peace Festival-Japan 2008,” was held last September3,2008 from 6pm to 10 pm at Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku with Dr. Hyun Jin Moon as the keynote speaker for the attending Ambassadors and Diplomats. The Philippine Delegates to the said event include officials from the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo namely the Labor Attaché Mr. Danilo Cruz. the Welfare Officer Ms. Luz Talento and the Armed Forces and Defense Attaché Col. Danilo Estropia. Also present in the event is Mrs. Angelita Obara- FJMGP President and current co Chairperson of the GPF Japan Filipino Community National Steering Committee and FJMGP General Secretary Mrs. Priscila Akahori.

The delegation from the Philippine Embassy was surprised how big and powerful the GPF event is ; more so knowing that it all started in the Philippines . They have acknowledged their willingness to support the coming GPF Japan on Nov. 15, 2008 with the Labor Attaché Mr Cruz saying- “I am very happy to support the November GPF event in Tokyo” to one of the chairman.
The Defense Attaché Col. Estropia recognizes the works of Universal Peace Federation comparing them to Jaycees and Rotary Club but in bigger scope. He talked to one of the GPF Executive Committee Member Mr. Koji Matsuda about the present situation in Mindanao where war is on going .He even described how they fight behind the banana fields when he was assigned in that area. He is a man of action and most probably the one who can really actualize the mission of GPF.

After the event , while walking at the lobby, the attention of the Philippine Delegation was called by Mr. Shigenari Kato, the Secretary General of Universal Peace Federation. He was very glad that delegates from the Philippine Embassy attended that night (it was a first time ever he said). He is grateful that thru FJMGP we can inform and involve the Filipino community in Japan in preparation for the GPF Japan 2008 in November.

The very gentleman Col. Estropio gave us a ride from the venue to the station using the Embassy car and invited us to visit his office next time we visit the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo .

My dearest FJMGP members : ”I hope to represent your burning hearts and spirits. Thanks everyone for your efforts, our challenge had just begun. Let’s show to our second motherland that we have the power, love and spirits to do substantial for this nation. Let’s mobilize with happy and grateful hearts.Stay fit in mind and body.” Angie Obara(FJMGP president)
